How It Works
Five steps, each with a clear owner.
Step 1: Read the resume
ATSCheck
ATSCheck reads your PDF, DOCX or pasted resume, including its sections, dates and contact details.
Step 2: Separate the requirements
ATSCheck
The job description is split into individual requirements and marked required, preferred or unclear. HR users confirm them before candidates are analysed.
Step 3: Find the evidence
AI-assisted
ATSCheck looks for lines in the resume that show each requirement, even when the wording differs. Every quote shown is checked against the resume.
Step 4: Calculate the score
ATSCheck
Scores are calculated consistently, so the same resume and job description give the same result for everyone. AI does not choose the number.
Step 5: Recommend and write
AI-assisted
Recommendations, rewrites and cover letters are based on the evidence, then checked for claims the resume does not support.
Reading the resume
- Passed: Contact details found in the body text
- Passed: Section headings recognised
- Passed: Required · REST API development — evidence quoted
- Passed: Required · PostgreSQL in production — evidence quoted
- Needs attention: Dates use more than one format

Cover Letters / Senior Backend Engineer
Draft 2
Dear hiring team,
I am applying for the Senior Backend Engineer role. In my current position I designed HTTP services consumed by web and mobile applications, and I maintained the PostgreSQL schemas behind our orders service, tuning slow queries as traffic grew.
I have also onboarded two new engineers to our payments codebase, and I would welcome the chance to do more of that in your team.

Stages change only when a person moves a candidate. Nothing moves automatically.
Limits by Design
What ATSCheck deliberately does not do.
No hiring decisions
ATSCheck never rejects, advances or ranks a person automatically. People decide.
No protected characteristics
Age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability and similar characteristics are ignored.
No personality or culture-fit scores
Only job-related evidence in the resume is assessed.
No invented facts
Rewrites and cover letters are checked for claims the resume does not support.
No guarantees
ATSCheck cannot predict a specific employer’s system or promise interviews.
No absence treated as proof
“No evidence found in the supplied resume” describes the document, not the person.
